Paradise Riddim – Madmen Productions

Madmen Productions kept this one tight in 2011, cutting the Paradise Riddim down to just two vocals and leaving the instrumental to do plenty of the talking. Jamelody’s “Always There” leans into the smoother side of the groove, while Maximus Dan, still in his Mx Prime mode here, comes through sharper on “Murderous One, ” giving the riddim a tougher edge. That small tracklist makes the project feel more like a focused 45-style session than a big compilation, which suits the release well. It landed in a year when Madmen were moving between reggae and soca projects, and this one sits neatly in that run as a compact Trinidad-rooted cut.
