Straight out of the 2018 dancehall run, Pain And Joy Riddim carries that lean, late-2010s Jamaican juggling energy: quick on its feet, bass-heavy, and built for singers who can turn a simple hook into a tune that sticks. Vexxx Bad keeps the cast tight with seven cuts from six artists, and the mix of voices gives it a nice shape — Rasqo’s “Miss Jamaica” and Carlton D’s “Don’t Leave” lean into romance, while Krytical’s “Your Loving” and Draxx’s “Moving On” push the emotional side a little harder. Eklypse even gets two passes at “Everything Connect, ” with clean and raw versions that point to a proper dancehall setup rather than a one-off single. Lenny D and Max Richies close it out with “Slowly Wine, ” a reminder of how much of that era’s riddim work was about one groove carrying a whole little scene.
