Overseas Riddim – Optimus Productions

By 2018, dancehall was still leaning hard into slick, club-ready riddims, and Overseas Riddim sits right in that lane with a bright, mid-tempo bounce that leaves room for the voices to do the work. Fadda Fox’s “Rock Dat Body” is the immediate hook here, all attitude and motion, while Samini’s “Give Me Love” smooths the edges a bit and gives the project some melodic lift. Neppy K’s “Right Type Of Wine” keeps the waistline energy front and centre, and “Hardcore” from M1 leans more rugged, which helps break up the lighter flirtation elsewhere.
