One Pot Riddim (2017) – Plycity

Plycity’s One Pot Riddim sits closer to a lean vocal showcase than a producer flex, with just seven singers riding the same 2017 cut before the instrumental closes it out. Anthony Q’s “Nuh Affi Rich” and Clarity’s “Why” set the tone early, while Spechinal’s “Fly To Jah” and Chyna Nicole’s “Jah Jah Is Love” lean into the uplift and spiritual side of the project, all over a clean, steady reggae groove that leaves plenty of room for the voices to sit up front. The title feels fitting: each song comes in with its own seasoning, but the whole thing keeps a homely, one-batch feel. The set runs eight tracks in total, with Plycity Records handling the production and the instrumental placed last.
