One Day Riddim (2021) – New Vineyard Music

One Day Riddim comes in with a clean, mid-tempo roots pulse rather than the big, bashy dancehall swing, and New Vineyard Music keeps the focus on strong voices riding a steady, uncluttered groove. The set leans firmly reggae, with Eesah and Ricky Benz setting the tone on the title cut, Sizzla tightening things up on “Stronger, ” and Jah Reefa, Jah Rain, and Roya adding their own shades of uplift, reflection, and love talk across the nine-track run. There’s a nice bit of movement in the lineup too, with Provherbs and Infa closing out on “Cindy” and Professor Grizzly’s “Hey Now” landing like one of the sharper turns in the sequence. But the cut that leaves the clearest mark is Sizzla’s “Stronger, ” which anchors the riddim with the kind of weight and authority that keeps the whole project upright.
