Next Generation Riddim – Tmd Records Production

TMD Records Production’s 2011 Next Generation Riddim sits in that era of lean, straight-ahead dancehall where the producer lets the voices do the heavy lifting. The set runs to eight cuts and, in a neat bit of variety, brings back Tenza twice with “Fire Works” and “Loving You, ” while Caldinho’s “The Pain” and Dolamite’s “Young People” give the riddim its sharper edge. It’s also one of those projects that keeps the attention on the contrasts between singers and deejays, with Donelo and Marsha folding into “Elle – Run With Me” and Faithfull’s “One Girl” softening the pace a little.
