Hot Climax Riddim – Thompson House Productions

Back in 2011, when dancehall was leaning hard into sharp digital patterns and quick-hit party tunes, Thompson House Productions put out Hot Climax Riddim with a compact seven-cut lineup that keeps the focus on the groove and the vocal switches. Andi Ites’ “She Loves Me, ” Cregis’ “Bubble Up A Storm, ” and Deja’s “Whine Up” sit alongside the producer tag tune from General (Thompson House), and the whole set moves with a brisk, bouncy pulse that leaves room for each singer’s own style to cut through. Hiawondah, Kyenie, and Sotto Bless round out the sequence, giving the riddim a nice mix of flirtation, street talk, and dance-floor energy. The release runs seven tracks deep, all voiced by seven different artists.
