Big Laugh Music’s New Style Riddim landed in August 2021 with a modern dancehall cast and a name that suits the music: sharp, high-energy, and built for fast rotation. The release centers on a dense, digitally polished rhythm that sits in that late-2021 Jamaican lane where militant drums, taut bass, and clipped synth movement leave plenty of room for the vocalists to cut through. The same riddim was issued in clean and raw versions, a clue that it was aimed at both street circulation and radio-ready play.

Jahvillani’s “Kill Shot” gives the riddim its hardest edge, all menace and momentum, while I Waata’s “Go Getta” pushes the hustler energy with a more animated, chant-heavy approach. Quada’s “Well Bad” brings that colder, more insistent singjay pressure he was becoming known for around that period, and Lisa Mercedez adds a sharply playful, sexually charged turn on “Like A Virgin, ” giving the project a different temperature without breaking its dancehall footing.
