New 80s Dancehall Riddim – Warieka Productions

A choppy, old-school dancehall cut with the computer-led snap of the 1980s in its DNA, New 80’s Dancehall Riddim keeps the pulse tight and direct rather than cluttering up the groove. Warieka Productions lines it with three vocal tunes and an instrumental, so you get the juggling feel front and center: Louie Culture’s “Legalize, ” Shanz’s “Hit Dat, ” and Ward 21’s “Nuh Tek Set, ” before the bare riddim version closes it out. Ward 21’s cut gives the set some extra bite, but the whole thing stays locked into that retro bashment feel. Released in 2014, it runs four tracks in total.
