Keron Salmon, born in Kingston, Jamaica, is a dancehall singer, rapper, producer, and reggae recording artist who emerged during the 2010s. As a young child, Keron enjoyed re-writing lyrics of well-known musicians and he would record his voice as he recited the songs. These constant exercises gave him the confidence to start rapping and improve his own vocal skills, even at that tender age. His interest in rap began during his high school years. Lead the Way was his 1st full-length in 2013. The popularity of the album gave him much exposure and won himself a Juno award in Canada. Rebel Music EP was released in 2011 and some of the popular tracks included ‘I Alone’ and ‘Free From Chains.’ A good number of singles followed Lead The Way and made huge waves for him including ‘Phenomenon’ released in 2015 and 201`6’s collaboration with Raekwon ‘Be Inspired.’ 2017 came with the chilled track ‘Revolution Of The Mind’ and 2018 was summated with Kontraband, another full-length that featured Akon, Protoje and Damian Marley. Keron has had his songs on many different types of riddims such as the Prime Time News riddim which made the track ‘Mr. Gunman’ relevant in 2019. The song has lyrics that show the artist’s plea for violent acts like rape and murder to stop. He communicates that violence has never solved anything in society, if anything, it brings more pain and sorrow. ‘Reggae Music,’ released 2019 in January has received viewership of at least 8 million on YouTube. The track is the 5th song from Kontraband. Friends and Family is the current album that came out this year, 2020. For a young man of 24 years of age, Kabaka Pyramid is doing very well in the reggae/dancehall music scene.
