Jamaican dancehall artist Mad Cobra was arrested in Florence County, South Carolina for illegal possession of 2kg of cocaine and a 9mm Beretta gun. Aged 55, Mad Cobra whose government name is Ewart Everton Brown was pulled over in his Black BMW SUV at a traffic stop for speeding.
Mad Cobra faces charges of trafficking cocaine and illegal possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was taken into custody by deputies and is currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
You cannot make this up. Given where Mad Cobra came from and the success of his music career it’s puzzling he would get caught up with such nonsense. Mad Cobra also just known as Cobra is/was a successful dancehall artist from the 90s/2000s. His main hits include Flex, Press Trigger on Buzz Riddim, Pet and Pamper, Dun Wife, and Legacy. With an impressive discography of 12 albums, Mad Cobra is an accomplished artist with tracks featuring on Billboard Charts.
It cant be immaturity as Cobra is 55 years old. So, I cannot find myself feeling sorry for him. However, as they say, “Cocaine is a hell of a drug.” Time will tell what will happen to this fallen legend. Who knows, this may spur him on to make another classic album but not in the foreseeable future though.
