Halfway through this one, the mood is already steady and reflective, with BWE Records Jamaica steering Music Class Riddim into a rootsy 2021 reggae pocket rather than trying to crowd it with too many ideas. The six-track set keeps the voices close to the message: Aje Decap’s “Too Much Blood, ” Jeruna’s “Government Nah Look, ” and Cykal’s “A Nuh Time Fi Give Up” all point in different directions, but they share the same lived-in tension. BWE Records Jamaica handles the whole production, and the sequencing feels deliberate, moving from pressure and struggle toward survival and motion with “From A Far” and “Time A Fly Mek It Right” near the end.
