Jayce’s “For Life” sets the tone on Journey Riddim with a firm, hopeful edge, and the rest of Westpoint Entertainment’s 2021 cut follows that same uplift-minded path. Across just five songs, the project keeps the focus tight: Thamara Songbird St. Bernard’s “Overcome” and Roach’s “Stay Strong” lean into resilience, while Shonna Mc Meo and Jonathan Francis bring the more romantic side with “If Only” and “Love Again. ” The riddim itself sits in that clean, mid-tempo reggae lane, with enough bounce in the drums and bass to keep it moving without crowding the vocals. Westpoint kept the lineup lean instead of stacking names for the sake of it, which suits a release that’s more about mood and message than spectacle. In a year when a lot of roots-leaning projects were chasing clarity and encouragement, this one lands right in that space.
