Million Dollar Riddim – Flip Money

By 2018, Flip Money had this one skanking on a clean, hard-edged dancehall groove with enough space for the voices to do the talking. Mavado’s “Million Dollar Man” gives the riddim its flash, while Agent Sasco comes in twice with the cautionary “Don’t Violate” and the raw cut, which keeps the energy taut and a little more threatening. I-Octane’s “Mad Them” and Liquid’s “Wine Baby” push it in different directions, but the real anchor is the way the sequence closes on the instrumental, letting the pattern breathe after the vocal runs.
