The sound has a clean, bright pulse and a steady mid-tempo bounce, the kind of rhythm that leaves space for melody but still carries enough weight for straight dancehall phrasing. Wayne Wonder and Vershon’s “Oh Girl” is the most obvious crossover-friendly cut, with Wayne Wonder’s smooth hook sense playing well against Vershon’s more current patter.
