MADHEAD RIDDIM produced by KESTA RECORDS
Madhead Overview
The dancehall set that became popular in 2013 started in the studio with a strong creative vision. The sound engineer guided the session, focusing on a sharp, energetic sound that would stand out in clubs and parties. The producer, KESTA RECORDS, was already known in the dancehall scene for releasing bold and modern riddims. Based in Jamaica, KESTA RECORDS had built a reputation for working with both new and established artists, helping to shape the sound of dancehall in the early 2010s. Each artist brought their own style to the project. Dezey Coyottee delivered “Tun It Up,” a track full of energy and catchy hooks. Ella Belle’s “I Can Tell” added a melodic touch, showing her smooth vocal delivery. J Life made an impact with “Bad Ina De Dance,” a song that quickly caught the attention of selectors and dancehall fans. Kemmikal joined the mix with “Style Dem Mad,” adding a gritty, streetwise feel. Lehai’s “Street a Get Hot” reflected the energy and tension of city life. Each artist’s song fit perfectly with the riddim, creating a set that flowed naturally from one track to the next. This selector’s mix was a favorite in 2013’s bashment sets, with each track adding to the excitement of the dancehall scene that year.
