Noah X’s Madd Sick Riddim sits a little leaner than the producer’s later, more crowded soca projects, and that tighter five-track format keeps the focus on the songs themselves. Teddy Rhymez’s “Taking Over” with Tallpree gives the riddim its biggest hook, while Boogie B’s “Jab Jab Work” and Freakelus’ title cut lean into the rough Carnival energy, with Terra Kid and Nagalus keeping the pace brisk and percussive. The whole set runs just 17 minutes, and that short span leaves room for the kind of sharp, road-ready bounce you’d expect from a 2014 Noah X Production release.
