Machine Riddim (2011) – Hype Productions

By 2011, Hype Productions had this one parked neatly among the year’s dancehall riddims, and Machine fits that era’s sharper, digital-cut sound: tough, midtempo, and lean enough to leave the voices room to cut through. The lineup mixes rising names and seasoned dancehall hands, with Kiprich’s “Over Mi Shoulder, ” Bugle’s “Dem Need Fi Know, ” and Serani’s “Form Dem Wake” giving the riddim some of its strongest character; Wayne Wonder and Spragga Benz keep the project from tilting too far in one direction.
