Jericho Riddim – Don Corleon Records

2011 was a sharp little year for dancehall riddims, and Jericho came in with that lean Don Corleon polish that could cut through a crowded session without shouting. The line-up is short but pointed: Vybz Kartel’s “Mi Dont Know” has that wicked, knowing edge he was running with at the time, while Ky-Mani Marley’s “War” brings a more grounded, serious tone that fits the title nicely. Da’ Professor’s “Shake I Up (Clean)” adds a lighter flash of personality, keeping the riddim from sitting in one mood too long. Don Corleon had already built a reputation for crisp, radio-ready dancehall by then, so this one lands in the middle of that early-2010s era when the big producers were still setting the pace and the singles had to hit hard fast.
