Lovers Rock Riddim – Musicmecka Records

In 2011, when roots-minded reggae was leaning hard on lovers-rock warmth again, Musicmecka Records cut a tidy little riddim project that keeps its focus on love songs and conscious romance. Sophia Brown opens it with the title cut, while Anthony Que’s “Your Love Is All I Need” and Ginjah’s “No Man A No Stone” give the set its strongest pull, with that latter tune carrying a tougher edge against the softer mood. The tracklist runs nine cuts deep and keeps the voices moving in a clean, unhurried sequence, so the producer’s intent feels plain: let each singer get a fair turn without crowding the groove.
