Love Is Knocking Riddim produced by Yellow House Records 2024
Love Is Knocking Overview
In early 2024, a new reggae rhythm began to take shape in Kingston’s studio corners. The project started with a simple idea: bring together classic reggae beats and a gentle, soulful energy. The culture arranger gathered musicians who understood the roots of reggae, guiding the sound into something both fresh and familiar. Yellow House Records took the role of producer, steering the project from the ground up. Known for their focus on bass-driven reggae and a history of supporting emerging artists, Yellow House Records has been active in the reggae scene for over a decade. Their releases often find homes on vinyl and in digital playlists, keeping the spirit of sound system culture alive. As the riddim grew, it attracted a mix of seasoned and rising voices. Terry Ganzie, respected for his 1990s hit “Welcome the Outlaw,” brought his unique style to “The Streets.” Diamond Liyah added a fresh touch with “Love is Knocking,” her vocals gliding over the soft groove. Luciano, known worldwide for his uplifting anthem “Sweep Over My Soul,” offered “God Alone,” a track that stands out with its message and delivery. Jah Mali delivered heartfelt emotion on “Don’t Cry Mama,” while Jahmeik King’s “Believe” carried hope and resilience. From late-night mixing sessions to the first test pressings, each step of the journey was shaped by a love for reggae’s roots and a vision for its future. Now released, the riddim project still echoes through 2024, connecting listeners to the heart of the island sound.
