Love Birds Riddim keeps its focus on lovers-rock tension and hard-earned warning tunes, with Di General Records lining up I-Octane, Chuck Fenda, Chino McGregor, Jah Cure, and Zagga over a nine-track set that runs just about half an hour. Chino’s “What Goes Around” and I-Octane’s “Beware” sit right in the pocket with the rest of the cut, where the messages circle back to karma, heartbreak, and the kind of relationship talk reggae has always done so well. The project arrived as a digital release in May 2021, and that tidy format suits the selection of voices here, especially with Liquid and Hot Frass adding a couple of sharper turns before the instrumental closes it out.
