Out of the 2021 dancehall crop, Life Riddim lands like a small local snapshot of the scene in motion, with Amplified Musiq lining up seven artists across nine cuts and keeping the energy tight around hunger, drive, and survival. Shortboss Vante official’s “My Life” and Kyng Jave’s “Greatness” set the tone early, while Crimestar General’s “Born Fi Dis” and Mdan Sixx’s “Humble” both getting clean and raw versions gives the project a bit of extra street-level tension. The production has that lean, forward-driving riddim feel that lets the vocals do the heavy lifting, and the title says enough: this one’s about getting by and pushing through, with “Poverty” and “Choppa Lifestyle” sitting right in the middle of it.
