CDV Productions kept Life Essence Riddim in a tight lane, pairing the 2019 reggae juggling with just four voices and letting each cut breathe. Hyer Dan opens with “She’s Gone, ” a plaintive lead that sets the tone, while Shawn J’s “Free” and Jahci Kole’s “First Lady” lean into the more uplifting side of the riddim. The set sat alongside other 2019 reggae releases in CDV’s catalogue, and the sequencing feels deliberate: the introspective opener, the calmer middle stretch, then Kemikal J’s more confrontational “Weh Dem Ago Do” before Jahci Kole closes it out. It’s a small lineup, but the order gives the riddim a clear arc rather than a loose pile of singers.
