KUMINA RIDDIM produced by FREE FLOW RECORDS
Kumina Overview
The party backdrop used in sound clashes has a long history in Jamaican music. In the early days, these backdrops helped set the mood at dancehall events, adding excitement and energy to the crowd. By 2016, this tradition was still alive, especially in projects like the Kumina Riddim. Kumina Riddim brought together several talented artists. Costus performed “Da Way,” a song that quickly became popular in dancehall circles. Free Flow Records, the producer and also an artist on the project, is known for supporting new talent and creating innovative rhythms. As a producer, Free Flow Records has worked with many artists and helped push dancehall music forward. Their work on Kumina Riddim is one example of their impact. Kyaci’s song “Kumina” added a unique voice to the riddim. Mad Boss contributed with “Wash,” while Prolla’s “Sindung & Wine” kept the party vibe strong. Skankie Don also joined the project with “Fluffy Gal,” making sure the riddim had something for every dancehall fan. Fans still remember the Kumina Riddim project from 2016 because it mixed the old party atmosphere with fresh sounds. With Free Flow Records leading the way, the project showed how dancehall can keep its roots while still moving forward.
