Karma Riddim (2017) – Reggae Take Over

Nadia Latoya opens Karma Riddim with “Thank God it’s Friday, ” and that’s the tune that gives Reggae Take Over’s 2017 set its first real spark, leaning into a clean dancehall cut with The Elementz backing the vocal and setting the pace for the rest of the EP. Snowy follows on “Vibes, ” while The Elementz keep their own “Karma Riddim (Instrumental)” in the middle of the tracklist, so the release never drifts far from its producer’s hand. Tippa Irie’s “Karma” lands with the most veteran presence here, and his cut feels like the one that ties the whole project together, giving the riddim a sharper edge and a bit more streetwise weight by the time it closes out.
