Back Road Riddim – College Boiz

Back Road Riddim came out in early 2017 from College Boiz Productions, and it sits right in that busy mid-2010s dancehall pocket where a compact riddim EP could still pull in a sharp mix of voices. The six-track set keeps the energy tight: Devin Di Dakta’s “Dolla” opens things with a radio-friendly edge, Elephant Man charges through “Galong Bad” with his usual veteran bounce, and Macka Diamond cuts into the rhythm on “Dont Have a Clue” with the kind of talk-sing style that gives these projects character. Razor B’s “Izzy Wine” and Qnique’s “Lockdown” keep the pace moving, while the instrumental closes it out cleanly. At just 16 minutes, it’s short and focused, with Elephant Man’s cut doing the heavy lifting as the most immediate pull.
