Just Talking Riddim – Volcano Records

Produced by Henry “Junjo” Lawes for Volcano Records in 1982, Just Talking Riddim brings together a tight early-’80s selection led by Michael Prophet’s Just Talking and Billy Boyo’s Run Go Call Baby Mother, with Papa Dimes adding Thru Me and a dub version rounding out the set. The rhythm sits in Volcano’s run of tough Waterhouse-era productions, the kind Lawes pushed through his label as he helped define the sound of Jamaican reggae at the start of the decade.
