Jollity Riddim – Mixmaster Chao

Produced by Mixmaster Chao, Jollity Riddim landed in 2020 as a seven-track reggae set and one of the Nairobi producer’s Kenyan-rooted riddims from that period. Binti Afrika’s Reggae Music, Black Heart Ke’s Move On, and Royalty By Black’s Africa Unite give the project its clearest hooks, while Jahises Seru’s Freedom adds a more conscious note to the line-up. Chao, the founder of Half Live Productions, was already building a busy riddim run around this time, and Jollity fits that catalogue with a clean, vocal-driven sound and a community-minded reggae feel that keeps the energy upbeat without losing its rootsy edge.
