Jah Table Riddim – Sebat

Ras Ijah’s “Ital Is Vital” gives Jah Table Riddim its first real hook, and it sets the tone for a nine-track set that leans into conscious reggae with a few sharper topical turns. Levi Myaz comes in sounding wary on “Beware, ” Jah Bami keeps the spiritual language moving on “Ancient, ” and Isaac Faith’s “Joy” adds a lighter lift before Jalifa’s “I-Vital (Healthy Life)” pushes the health-conscious message right to the front. Sebat keeps the arrangement taut across the whole 2018 cut, with Gardiphee Music closing matters on the instrumental and leaving the groove exposed. But it’s Ras Ijah who gives the riddim its clearest opening statement, and “Ital Is Vital” is the track that lingers after the rest of the voices have had their say.
