Digital-B keeps the focus on voices here, and the lineup leans hard into roots-conscious modern reggae. Chronixx’s “Iyah Walk” is the obvious anchor, with that measured, militant lilt he was carrying so well in the mid-2010s, while Raging Fyah’s “World A People” and Jamelody’s “Fit” bring more of the spiritual, uplift-heavy side of the set. There’s a nice contrast with Chevaughn’s “Lucky Token” and Thunder’s “Meadow, ” which loosen the mood without breaking the riddim’s steady pulse. It feels very much in step with the label’s long habit of pairing polished studio craft with singers who can carry a message, the same lane Digital-B has been working since the Bobby Digital era. As a 2014 release, Islababad sits comfortably in that catalogue of conscious one-riddim projects that never chased flash over song.
