Irie Friday Riddim lands as a compact, roots-leaning reggae set with that French sound-system edge Vibeguard were shaping in the early 2010s, keeping the vibe warm, dubby, and direct rather than slick. The strongest pulls here are John Mouse’s “The System” and Osiris’s “Reggae Addict, ” both of which sit right in that old-school singjay pocket, while Fako’s “Le Fruit De La Délivrance” adds a more left-field touch with Ginkgo Belova and Fmr Sound in the mix. Vibeguard later folded the riddim into a proper label run out of Champagne-Ardenne, and the release also helped set up their first 7-inch, which paired John Mouse and Osiris on the same house rhythm. Sista Léo closes it out with “I Wanna Talk, ” a clean final cut that keeps the whole project lean and focused.
