Introspect Riddim – Kellaz Records

Kellaz Records turns out a lean eight-cut dancehall set on Introspect Riddim, and the mood feels inward-looking without losing its street pull: muted, brooding, and tight enough to let each voice cut through. Asure’s “Alibies” and Kan Whyte’s “Better Life” set the tone early, while Trauma Boss’ “Feel Like” and Chapta’s “Life Journey” push the project toward confession and grit rather than straight party chatter. There’s a nice fit between the producer’s restrained approach and the artists’ sharper edges, especially on Lexicon’s “Hard Ears, ” where the delivery sits right on top of the rhythm instead of floating over it. Eight artists, eight tracks, no wasted space, and a 2021 release date that feels about right for the sound.
