Impression Riddim (2021) – Chings Records

Still in 2021, Chings Records lined up a neat little dancehall juggling on Impression Riddim, and the thing that jumps out is how cleanly it moves from Quada’s “Legacy” and Teejay’s rough-edged “Brawling” into tougher cuts from Trueace, Takeova, and the rest of the nine-artist bill. Chings keeps the production tight and uncluttered, letting the voicing do the talking, so the riddim leans more on steady momentum and streetwise energy than on any flashy turn. Quada and Teejay feel like the anchors here, with “Legacy” and “Brawling” giving the set its clearest pull, while Mikki Ras, Jac Saavige, and JCeleb add extra colour without breaking the mood. In all, Impression Riddim carries nine tracks from nine different artists.
