Igloo Riddim (More) – So Unique Records

The Igloo cut has that icy, stuttering dancehall pulse—cold synths, lean drums, and enough shelling bass to keep it moving without getting messy, which is exactly the kind of floor pressure So Unique Records was leaning into in early 2014. Mavado’s “Friends With Benefits” is the obvious anchor here, but the riddim also gives room to sharper, cheekier cuts like Flexx’s “Good Like Gold” and Tuff Krakaz’s raw pass at “Pussy Mi Want, ” with Dadon’s “Beach Party” loosening the mood just enough to keep it from feeling too severe.
