LNJ R and R Records’ Special Guest Riddim sits a little different from the label’s usual production style, with a lean 2014 dancehall set that keeps the focus on hooky, street-ready cuts rather than any big concept. Demarco’s “Bout Yah” is the obvious anchor, and the riddim also gives Dwayno’s “Love Yuh Bad” and Stein’s “Too Bad” enough room to cut through, helped by a straightforward, hard-edged groove that sounds built for sound system play. The package runs to 11 tracks from eight artists, with clean and raw versions folded in for Demarco, L-Razor and Stein, plus contributions from Cement Kidd, Cv Lnj, First Born Lnj and X Facta Lnj.
