Vertex Productions’ 2005 I Believe Riddim sits in the middle of that early-2000s roots-minded reggae run where the voice and the message carry just as much weight as the rhythm. It’s a compact four-cut set, with Bascenta, Fantan Mojah, Norris Man, and X Ray all working over the same clean one-drop foundation. Fantan Mojah’s “Dont Bow Out” feels like the obvious anchor, but Norris Man’s “Got To Take Charge” and X Ray’s “Cant Drop The Batton” keep the pressure on with that same righteous, street-level tone.
