Hot Tar Riddim – Bass Lion Art Production

Hot Tar Riddim comes in with a taut, mid-tempo dancehall swing and a dark, street-level edge, the kind of jugglin’ that leaves room for the voice while the bass does the heavy lifting. Bass Lion Art Production lined it up in 2021 with 13 cuts and a neat split between clean and raw versions, which gives the project a proper dancehall sound-system feel without wasting time. Jahvillani’s “Stay Clean” opens the strongest lane here, full of sharp posture and grimy polish, while Teejay’s “Rental” pushes the energy forward with the sort of hook that sticks fast. Shane O’s “Dutty Mind” keeps the mood mean and melodic, but it’s Jahvillani who leaves the sharpest imprint, setting the tone for the whole riddim.
