Horse Paw comes off like a sparse, hard-edged dancehall cut, the kind of stripped-down rhythm that leaves plenty of room for the vocals to do the talking. With only two songs on the set, Blakssman’s “C’est La Guerre” and Lams’ “Tu Parles De Fidélité? ” do most of the heavy lifting, and the French titles hint at a project that was aiming beyond the usual Jamaican lane.
