Herbalist Riddim comes off like a smoky little roots session, with the various voices leaning into the same herb-friendly groove without crowding each other out. Dainties’ “Danger Zone” and Jah Sen’s “Always In My Life” sit especially well against the version, while Gounzman’s “Leaving Out Rome” adds a sharper edge to the set. There’s a nice link between the production and Sensor ft. Gunzman’s “Officer Edit, ” where the cadence rides the riddim’s steady pulse instead of fighting it, and that’s the sort of detail that gives the whole cut its character. It’s a 2007 release, and the title track version closes things out with that familiar, easy sway.
