YTM Recordz kept Hawt Wire Riddim tight and festival-ready in 2018, a five-track soca set that moves like it was built for quick roadwork and even quicker crowd response. The instrumental sits alongside four vocal cuts, and the whole thing leans into that bright, punchy Carnival energy without overcomplicating the job. Mr Legz opens with “Champion Winer, ” Nadia Batson pulls focus on the sharp, teasing “Strangers, ” and Problem Child’s “Make Sense” gives the riddim its most pointed turn. Shal Marshall’s “One Wine” keeps the pace up, but it’s the Problem Child cut that leaves the strongest stamp, riding the arrangement with the kind of easy command that makes a small riddim stick in the memory.
