Hard Ground Riddim – Jammy’s Records

Hard Ground was produced by King Jammy for Jammy’s Records in 1981 and pairs Black Uhuru’s Hard Ground with the Dub version Bad Girls Dub, keeping the release tight and focused on one strong roots cut and its dub counterpart. It sits in Jammy’s early-’80s production run, when his work was still grounded in heavyweight roots reggae before the full dancehall shift, and Black Uhuru’s name gives the riddim extra weight in the catalog.
