By 2012, Goodyouth Production had this one sitting in the thicker, harder-edged corner of modern dancehall, and Gullywata Riddim keeps the focus tight with just three cuts: Pamputtae’s “Bruck Off Cocky, ” Ranco’s “Touch U, ” and Pamputtae again on “Bruck Them Body. ” The set leans on a stripped, stabbing drum pattern and a rude, forward-moving bassline rather than any glossy polish, which gives the voices plenty of room to cut through. Pamputtae is the clear anchor here; her two appearances carry the project’s attitude and energy, while Ranco’s lone slot adds a more direct, conversational push.
