Guerrilla Overview
In 2018, a new soca rhythm began its journey in the busy studio of STICK TO THE PLAN ENTERTAINMENT. The label, known for pushing Caribbean music forward, had already made waves with previous hits and was now ready to shape the Carnival season. At the center of the project was the band leader, who worked closely with the production team to craft a lively, energetic sound that would capture the spirit of masquerade. The rhythm soon caught the attention of top soca artists. Area Kode came in with “Dem Jab & Dem,” adding a bold and infectious energy. Candle and Yardy joined forces for “We The First,” a track that quickly became a favorite at fetes. Yardy, already recognized for his work with other soca stars, brought his signature style to the collaboration. Dash delivered “Listen Carefully,” a song that showed off his smooth vocals and ability to connect with the crowd. Half It rounded out the lineup with “Madness,” giving the rhythm another layer of excitement. DJs across the Caribbean leaned on these songs for big Carnival moments. The Guerrilla Riddim became a highlight of 2018’s masquerades, filling the streets with celebration. Thanks to STICK TO THE PLAN ENTERTAINMENT’s direction and the unique voices of each artist, the rhythm set a new standard for soca that year.
