Groovy City Overview

During the 2018 Carnival season, the Groovy City Riddim captured the true spirit of the fête. Its lively soca beat fit perfectly with the year’s wave of upbeat, dance-driven songs that filled the streets and parties. The rhythm’s infectious energy made it a favorite for festival-goers looking to celebrate. Much of the riddim’s unique sound is thanks to its island arranger. Their work gave the tracks a fresh, modern twist while still honoring classic soca traditions. The producer, HOMEBASE MUSIC STUDIO, played an important role as well. Known for working with several soca and dancehall acts, the studio has built a solid reputation for quality production and has helped launch many regional hits. The project features some of the scene’s most energetic voices. Glaze delivers “All Is Well,” a song that brings a sense of positivity and joy. Lu Lu’s “More Life” is another standout, and Lu Lu is also known for her 2017 single “Feel Good,” which earned radio play during that year’s Carnival.
