Grateful Riddim finds Livewyah Records leaning into a compact, four-song dancehall set that keeps the focus on the songs and the groove rather than piling on extra noise. Java’s title cut sits at the center of it, while Chriso’s “Can’t Get Enough” and Jed-I The Utmost’s “Pretty House” give the rhythm different angles, from tighter bragging to a more lived-in, rootsy feel; Syrahdo’s “Head Corner Stone” closes it out with the sort of straight-ahead chant that works well on a juggling. The whole thing was issued in 2021 and also includes an instrumental from LiveWyah, which helps underline the riddim’s stripped-down shape.
