GO WITH JAH RIDDIM produced by TAITU RECORDS 2015
Go With Jah Overview
Micah Shemaiah, Daweh Congo, Kabaka Pyramid, Mark Wonder, and Samory I all brought their unique voices to the Go With Jah Riddim in 2015. Each artist had their own standout track. Micah Shemaiah, known for his roots anthem “Dread Act,” delivered powerful vocals. Daweh Congo, who gained attention with songs like “Human Rights & Justice” earlier in his career, contributed “Go With Jah.” Kabaka Pyramid, a Grammy Award winner for Best Reggae Album in 2023, added his conscious energy on “King Of Kings.” Mark Wonder gave us “Real Battle Axe,” and Samory I, who later worked with producers like Rory Stonelove, voiced “Scepter.” The dub versions on this riddim became a favorite among roots reggae fans. The “Dread Act Dub” by Russ Disciple featuring Micah Shemaiah, and “Til Shiloh Dub” by Russ Disciple featuring Samory I, stood out for their deep, conscious sound. These dubs stripped back the vocals and brought forward the heavy basslines and echoing effects, which are hallmarks of classic reggae dub. TAITU RECORDS, the producer behind this project, is known for supporting authentic roots reggae. The label has released several respected riddims and worked with both established and rising artists. Their focus on high-quality production and traditional reggae vibes has earned them a loyal following in the reggae community. Looking back, many reggae fans still talk about the dub cuts from this 2015 release. The “Dread Act Dub” in particular remains a strong example of modern roots reggae with a classic dub feel.
