Glad Bag Riddim (2021) – A-Town Records

A-Town Records keeps Glad Bag Riddim lean and local-minded, pairing a small cast with a tune-set that feels more like a dancer’s tool than a star-stuffed compilation. Macka Diamond’s “Buss Mi Glad Bag” gives it the sharpest profile, while TK Kiss, SyckleDon and Brytahdayz each take a turn on the same spare framework, with clean and raw mixes folded in for a few cuts. The riddim sits at a steady 95 BPM for most of the release, pushed by a clipped drums-and-bass pattern that leaves plenty of room for the voices, then jumps out on KeeKey’s “10 LB, ” which runs much faster at 144 BPM. Wayne A-Town closes it out with the instrumental, leaving the hooky bassline and tight percussive bounce as the defining marks of the set.
