A grimy mid-2000s dancehall swing runs through Gardener Riddim, with a dark, rugged pulse that leaves plenty of room for chant-heavy hooks and ghetto commentary. Heart Of Love lined up a sharp 2007 cast here: Aidonia’s “Go For Yu Wanna, ” Busy Signal’s “Weed And Guns, ” Sizzla’s “That Me Tell Them, ” and Macka Diamond’s “Gangsta Bitch” give the riddim its bite, while Munga, Erup, and Tanto Marijuana keep the energy rooted in street-level talk.
