From Creation Riddim is a Blacker Dread Productions set that first surfaced in 1976, with Lee Scratch Perry, Mafia, Fluxy and Dean Fraser tied into the production credits and Clive Hylton’s original From Creation at its core. The lineup also brings in Lee Scratch Perry and The Upsetters with Underground, while later versions from Don Carlos, Everton Blender, Junior Reid, Mykal Rose and Sandeeno keep the rhythm firmly in roots territory. It has the feel of a deep 1970s foundation tune with later 1998 interpretations, and the mix of Clive Hylton’s title cut and Perry’s Upsetters side gives the project its character.
